LAC's private membership rates for personal asssistance and/or errand running begin at $50/hour. Specialty services such as "Dog Walking" and "Housekeeping" are subject to preferred vendor rates.
Hourly and package rates do not include the cost of products, services, taxes, or charges which may be incurred while executing the desired service(s).
Payment is due in advance of execution of service(s). LAC accepts Visa, MasterCard & PayPal. We also accept personal checks, via PayPal.
Services are performed on a first come, first serve basis and booking in advance is highly recommended to guarantee your service request is fulfilled in a timely fashion.
We request at least twelve (12) hours notice for personal assistant and errand service cancellations. A cancellation charge may be applied for cancellations with less than 12 hours notice.
Requests for personal assistant / errand running services to be rendered outside of normal business hours may be subject to a surcharge.
We're a full service agency devoted to "CELEB-ritizing" clients with enhanced lifestyle management services, crafted to save time, money, and keep you running optimally everyday - at work and at home! We provide personal and virtual assistance to fabulously busy folks like you. Our Private memberships are offered on a monthly basis with no obligations, contracts or cancelation fees (unlike some cellular services that shall remain nameless). Our Corporate and Property memberships work slightly different - based on aggregrate usage and platform.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CONCIERGE, PERSONAL ASSISTANT, AND ERRAND RUNNER?
REALLY, Really, good question and we provide them all. The differences are subtle, but here are some general distinctions:
A Concierge - Typically manages anything that can be handled virtually, from a phone, computer or desk. Generally everything a personal assistant will do, excluding errand running. However, they will facilitate your errand.
A Personal Assistant - Typically helps with overall lifestyle management. They provide assistance on a personal level in the same way an administrative assistant would in a corporate setting.
An Errand Runner - Traditionally assists with getting things done outside of the home or office. An Errand Runner can also be a Personal Assistant and vice versa.
HOW DO CONCIERGE SERVICES WORK?
Instead of hiring a personal assistant full time, Like a Celebrity allows you to place requests for anything at anytime. Prior to submitting requests, you'll need to become an LAC member. There are (3) levels of concierge membership, each priced by how many requests (*stars*) you can place within a month period. You are charged the monthly package rate and there are no additional fees, unless a purchase is made on your behalf. In those instances, clients are responsible for the cost of the purchase.
WHAT IS A CONCIERGE STAR?
Each request (or inquiry) you make with a concierge associate is considered a star. Each time we fulfill a request for you, your account will be reduced by (1) star. Some requests can equal more than (1) star. If a request requires more than one action, your account will be reduced by the equal amount of stars.
SAMPLEREQUEST
Make dinner reservation for you and (2) guests, with follow-up messages to the other (2) dinner guests on your behalf, totals (3) actions and will reduce your account by (3) stars. The action needed to confirm with you, alerting you the request has been fulfilled, is part of your service and does not count toward your stars. However, requesting to add the dinner reservation to your calendar would count as an additional star. Bringing that request to a total of (4) stars.
HOW DO I PLACE REQUESTS?
Our associates are available via phone, email, web site, and web chat (coming soon!!!). The most efficient method of placing requests is via email whenever possible. For urgent requests we suggest indicating the urgency in the subject line and/or if possible, placing requests by phone. ARE YOUR SERVICES HANDLED OUTSIDE OF THE USA?
No. Like a Celebrity is proud to be made in America. All of our highly trained experienced concierge associates are based in the USA to ensure highest possible quality. Like a Celebrity does not outsource your business. All of our operations are domestically located, and handled entirely in the USA.
IS THERE A MAIN CONTACT OR POINT PERSON WHEN I PLACE REQUESTS?
Generally, no, but it could happen. We're a 24/7 operation. We currently have a fabulous team of 10 concierge associates that you'll become familar with over time. For special projects such as assistance with a large event, we may assign 1-2 point people to ensure flawless execution. This will be addressed on case by case basis.
HOW DO YOU BILL CONCIERGE SERVICES?
It's quite simple actually. All packages are purchased prior to execution of services. You purchase the concierge package best for your lifestyle. Each time you place a request, we will deduct your account by one (1) star. Unused stars are not refunded nor carried over to next month. You can cancel your membership at anytime. Unless a third party purchase is made on your behalf, you pay nothing additional. We do not provide refunds should you cancel your membership mid month, nor do we automatically renew your membership unless this is arranged in advance.
HOW DO YOU BILL LIFESTYLE MANAGEMENT SERVICES?
All packages are purchased prior to execution of services. You purchase the package that best suits your lifestyle. Each time you place a request for errands or personal assistance we will adjust your account according to usage. You will be provided with a report at the end of each service fulfillment fully detailing your request, along with a quick satisfaction survey. Unless a purchase is made on your behalf, you pay nothing additional. We do not provide refunds should you cancel your membership mid month, nor do we automatically renew your membership unless this is arranged in advance.
ARE TAXES INCLUDED IN THE HOURLY RATE?
No. There are some services which require sales tax and clients are responsible for this charge. Final bill will reflect taxes, if applicable. We don't charge tax, the IRS does.
WHAT METHODS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
Visa, MasterCard, Electronic Wires and PayPal. No personal checks are accepted. However we accept electronic checks via PayPal.
WILL YOU EVER CHARGE MY CREDIT CARD AS A DEPOSIT?
No, we will only charge your credit card when we receive your authorization to commence membership and/or if we must complete a purchase on your behalf.
DO YOU STORE CREDIT CARD NUMBERS?
No, as a matter of practice we do not. Sometimes this can be an inconvenience to clients so we make exceptions. If you would like us to save your information we will safeguard it and will only use it upon authorization.
WHAT SERVICES CAN'T YOU PROVIDE?
While we are here to make life a little more manageable, due to our insurance liability limitations, we do not provide any child or elder care assistance at this time. We are happy to assist in identifying caretakers for your loved ones by leveraging relationships with our preferred vendors. We also do not participate in anything unlawful. Read between the lines, people.
CAN I SHARE MY ACCOUNT?
We take your privacy very seriously and are very careful about your account information and *stars*. For this reason accounts are limited to one (1) member. However, our Corporate and Property memberships, offer extension of privileges to additional users such as spouse and/or dependents. And, you can always gift a membership to friends and family.
HOW DO YOU ENSURE HONEST AND TRUSTWORTHY ASSOCIATES, PERSONAL ASSISTANTS & ERRAND RUNNERS?
Our business is NOTHING without trust and confidence. All associates willingly consent to full disclosure via background, criminal, and credit checks. We hold your privacy and safety right up there with breathing. We have ZERO TOLERANCE for dishonesty and acts of deception. We do our best to sustain high standards by providing hands-on customer service, professionalism, dependability, and convenience to our clients. We expect, encourage, and appreciate the same from our preferred vendors.
IN THE EVENT OF A DISSATISFIED CLIENT, WHAT IS YOUR METHOD OF ADDRESSING THEIR CONCERNS?
Upon completion of services, we virtually check in with clients to gauge their level of satisfaction. We do this to encourage feedback - both negative and positive. We've found this method to be very helpful in building trust and avoiding miscommunications. While a client may not always be right, they are never wrong. We don't consider a request complete unless the client is satisfied. Our success depends on it. We are fortunate to have wonderful clients who are generous with praise and feedback allowing us to adjust methods and procedures to best serve you. Each client is different so we do our best to accommodate your wishes.
Concierge Associates (“Associates”) are available 24/7/365, notwithstanding forces outside of our reasonable control including, but not limited to, natural disasters, strikes, acts of God, governmental restrictions, enemy actions, civil commotions, terrorism, fire or similar causes. Associates are responsible for providing you with informational services, limited to virtual telephone oriented operator tasks. Concierge Associates will not physically provide any work such as pick-ups, mailings, drop offs, or ANY ERRAND SERVICES WHATSOEVER. In addition, Associates will not provide any highly confidential services such as checking email or bank account information without explicit written consent to execute these services. Other than that, we can find, research, book, call, remind, wake up, order online and do just about everything else you'd like for us to do on your behalf.
Concierge Associates are required to speak English and it is not guaranteed that you will speak with or deal with the same Associate each time you place a request. Concierge Associates will do their best possible to provide you with the information or task at hand. However, there will be circumstances where such information or far-fetched requests are not fulfilled. Associates will do the best they can to service your requests, but Like a Celeb nor its Associates will be held accountable, liable or financially responsible for any inaccurate information provided.
Corporate and Property Members
Corporate and Property End Users will be assigned to a dedicated team of staff members. These staff persons will be your primary contact points to place your requests. Dedicated staff members will be randomly assigned to your account upon signing up for services. Please take note that your individual staff members WILL NOT be available 24/7 (they need beauty rest, too!). You will be able to reach your dedicated staff team on business days Monday through Friday from 8.30am – 12am eastern standard time, while Personal Assistants and Errand Runners are typically available during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm.
For times when your dedicated staff is not available, users may still utilize our services by simply contacting the concierge desk via the same telephone number, listed in your Appreciation Packets. Corporate and Property members are allowed a second user to place requests on their account. The secondary account holder must be able to provide the primary's membership # and verify the account information (email address, mailing address, telephone), etc... in order to utilize the account.
Personal Assistants
Personal Assistants (“Errand Runners") are available 24/7/365**, notwithstanding forces outside of our reasonable control including, but not limited to, natural disasters, strikes, acts of God, governmental restrictions, enemy actions, civil commotions, terrorism, fire or similar causes. Personal Assistants are responsible for executing tasks which can not be completed virtually or from a desk, phone or computer. Personal Assistants or Errand Runners are responsible for any work such as pick-ups, mailings, drop offs, etc. Personal Assistants will not provide any highly confidential services such as checking email or bank account information without explicit written consent to execute these confidential services. PA must be granted explicit written consent to have access to client's keys, to be able to wait at client home for services or delivery, as well as pick up prescriptions.
Personal Assistants are required to speak English and it is not guaranteed that you will deal with the same PA each time you place a request but we will make every attempt possible, in the spirit of establishing a comfort level between client and PA. Personal Assistants or Errand Runners will do the best they can to execute your requests, but Like a Celeb nor its Staff will be held accountable, liable or financially responsible for any inaccurate information provided.
Private Membership Pricing
Pricing can change at any time. Package rates are subject to sales tax and will be itemized on your bill.
Personal Assistant rates begin at $50/hr. Currently, concierge membership packages are:
POPULAR - $50 per month
ALMOST FAMOUS - $80 per month
CELEBRITY - $130 per month
Stars
Stars are used to monitor the activity on your concierge membership. Each membership level has a set amount of stars allotted. Currently the packages are as follows:
POPULAR Membership – 20 stars
ALMOST FAMOUS Membership – 50 stars
CELEBRITY Membership – 100 stars
CELEBRITY members receive “request priority” – these members’ requests will be fulfilled first in the order they’re received. The amount of stars per membership may change at any time. We will not honor any unused stars or rollover any stars from the prior month.
There is a maximum total of 10 stars that may be used on any given day for membership levels.
For each request you make, we will deduct your account by (1) star. For any action, search, call, or piece of information, we will reduce your account by (1) star. Therefore, if we need to make a dinner reservation, and note the reservation on your calendar, this will reduce your account by (2) stars because it required (2) actions. For research requests we will provide 15 minutes of research time for every star. If you request multiple pieces of research information, such as a comparison of 4 Algebra tutors for Junior, this will reduce your membership by (4) stars, and so on. Personal Information requests about your account, billing history, or adding any personal information will not be subjected to a star reduction.
Please, BE CONSCIOUS OF HOW MANY STARS YOUR REQUESTS REQUIRE because we will not advise you in advance how many credits will be required to follow through on your requests.
Stipulations
LAC is fully bonded and insured and will personally handle a wide array of services for clients however we exclude the following:
(a) Child or Elder Care
(b) Transportation
(c) Performing Manual Labor (d) Handling Jewelry or Furs in excess of $500 without prior authorization from LAC Relationship Manager. Like a Celeb has access to specialized affiliate vendors to execute items (a) thru (c) but additional measures may be necessary to execute item (d).
Hours of Operation
We are a 24/7/365 operation, however some of our services will not be available throughout all of that period. While information, direction, wake up calls, or reservation typed requests will be available, some merchant transactions or changes to your account, for example, must be handled during business hours Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm Eastern.
What you Need, When you Need it
Concierge Associates will provide Information, Directions, Personal Outbound Calling, Confirmations, Reservations, Wake Up Calls, Travel Arrangements, Directory Assistance and other common information requests over the telephone, by email or by text message. We will provide you with the best information possible that we can ascertain to aid with your request. Please understand, while we strive to fulfill requests ASAP, we are often reliant upon other businesses that may or may not be available or open at that time. On occasion, requests can take a day or two to be fulfilled. We will keep you looped in every step of the way if we encounter any obstacles. If for any reason you think we've taken too long on a request, please send an email to AssistMe(@)LikeaCelebNYC.com and a concierge associate will consider crediting your account.
Restrictions
By agreeing to our terms, you understand that there are some inherent limitations to the services we can provide. We will not make illegal purchases on your behalf or represent you in any unlawful or illegal way. For purchases made on your behalf by a concierge associate, Like a Celebrity nor its Staff or Associates will be held accountable for returns, refunds, or guarantees on behalf of the products or services you are purchasing. You are responsible for providing us with your information and there are inherent risks such as fraud, identity theft, wrong purchases, etc., when allowing an outsider to place purchases on your behalf. Again, we will take all the precautions necessary to protect your information, but we will not be held responsible or accountable or liable for any reason whatsoever should your information become exposed or if you are not pleased with the products or services you approved for us to charge on your behalf. Concierge Associates will also not lie on your behalf for any reason or be involved or responsible for any of your personal, business, financial or other actions. We will also not be held accountable or liable in any illegal or fraudulent activities that you impose or request upon our services. In such cases, we will terminate your account immediately and report you to the local authorities.
Usage Restrictions
You also agree that you are not to abuse our Associates, our time, or our services, in any other way outside the scope of our Concierge Services. You are not to resell our services, forward calls to your friends or family, exchange membership or spam our concierge desk with fraudulent and erroneous requests and inquiries. Such actions will result in immediate termination of your account and additional charges for our lost time. In addition, you are not to utilize our operators or Concierge services to profit your business or personal finances in any way. Our Associates will not honor fraudulent outbound calling, money collections, prank calling or other illegal activities.
Reasonable Time Limitations
While there are no time limitations to our calls, please keep in mind that to best service all of our clients we'd appreciate your prompt inquires. Associates will not remain on hold for long periods of time, or virtually ride along with you until you reach your final destination. We expect most calls will commence from beginning to end in approximately 3-4 minutes. In addition, for ASAP requests, we advise that you make such requests via telephone. The second fastest method of requests is via email. For requests requiring extensive research, we recommend submitting via email or web chat (coming soon!) all of which are available 24/7.
No Refunds
There will be no refunds for services that are rendered. There will also be no refunds for purchases made on your behalf. When you ask for our representatives to make purchases on your behalf, we will not be held accountable should the product or service you’re purchasing not meet the expectations you had in mind. Please review on your own, all refund and exchange policies with the service providers you intend for us to make purchases on your behalf, PRIOR to asking that we make any purchases for you. We will not be held accountable, liable or responsible in any way for purchases on your behalf that are lost during shipping, tickets arriving late, goods damaged in the mail, etc. We will make purchases on your behalf simply to save you time, but in no way will we be responsible for the goods or services we are purchasing.
Cancellation
Cancellations must be requested in writing. Just like a Doctor's office, we request a minimum of 12 hours notice on Personal Assistant errands whenever possible You can alert us via email at AssistMe(@)LikeaCelebNYC.com. Upon submitting notice, you will receive a confirmation of receipt. If you sign up for membership and wish to cancel within the same month, you will not be eligible for a refund. Your account will simply expire after 30 days.
Intoxication & Courtesy
As a Like a Celebrity member, you agree to respect and be decent with our Concierge Associates, Personal Assistants, Errand Runners, and staff. Calling intoxicated, drugged or utilizing profanity or derogatory language in any way is not permitted. At any time, our Associates have the right to hang up on you, refuse your service request, and/or cancel your membership should you fail to be respectful or treat our staff members with the same level of professionalism and courtesy they treat you with.
WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE TO ANYONE AT OUR DISCRETION.
Outbound Calls
While our Associates will provide outbound calling on your behalf, this service is limited to calls within the United States. Outbound calls are merely to communicate quick pieces of information to a 3rd party, such as appointment scheduling, confirmations, call backs, leaving voicemails, etc. Outbound calls will not include conference calling, or personal and sensitive calls; breaking up a relationship, money issues, private issues. If you're in that sort of a pickle, you're probably better off making the call yourself. In addition, Like a Celeb nor its Associates will be required to keep a log of your telephone calls, rolodex and will not save your telephone numbers unless specifically requested. You must present the operator with the telephone number you would like to use at the point of the request or alert us the number is already saved in your profile.
You also agree that in some cases such as purchases and appointments, Like a Celeb Associates will need to speak on your behalf, enter your personal information to create profiles (FreshDirect.com for example), and you authorize for us to use your personal profile information to get the things done that you are asking for us to do.
Liability
Our hospitality services offer supplemental services to your personal needs. Like a Celeb nor its Associates or staff will be held responsible for any reason whatsoever as the result of our services. You agree that should any damages resulting from our informational or general services take place, you revoke your right to pursue any legal action. We will do our best to provide you with sound and accurate information, but should our information lead to your dissatisfaction with the vendor or service or result in action provided, you will be held accountable.
Third Parties
Due to Like a Celeb's vast line of services, we have the right to utilize 3rd party companies to provide you with the best service possible. Such 3rd parties include, web designers, marketing teams, call centers, residential vendors, consultants, graphic designers, attorneys, wellness centers, accountants and more.
LAC Members DO NOT Pay More
LAC members do not pay more for a product or service by directing their requests through us to third party vendors. Our "retained base" business model prevents LAC and our staff from ever benefitting from your service inquiries and/or requests. This not only ensures that any/all discounts or benefits are passed directly through to the member, but also that our affiliated vendors are the very best at what they do - licensed, bonded, insured, and thoroughly screened before they're eligible to provide services.
SMS/Text Messaging - (BETA PHASE) - effective March 2012
From time to time, an Associate may offer to text you the information you are looking for. Whether you are looking for movie times, directions or a telephone number, we'll send you a text message. You agree that by saying yes to receiving the text message, you will most likely be charged by your cell phone company. Like a Celeb will not reimburse or be responsible for your text message charges.
Research
Also included in our services are research type inquiries. Such requests are limited to searches for places and things. We will not try to find missing people, missiong pets, missed connections, or ancient artifacts. Please be reasonable with your request. Research requests will only be carried out during business hours of Mon - Fri, 9am to 6pm. Please allow at least a few hours or days to provide you with the best information possible, depending upon the scarcity of your request.
Corporate Branding
Please note that Like a Celebrity provides white label branding of its services for companies providing Concierge Services operating under their own names. By agreeing to utilize our services, you agree to our terms of use as noted in this agreement. Companies utilizing LAC’s services, have agreed with our Terms which require that you directly or indirectly comply with our Terms of Use found here.
